Marble Raine Boutique in Andrews, with the help of Marble Springs Baptist Church and a lot of generous people, opened up the doors to a shopping extravaganza fit for a princess Saturday.
Young ladies were treated to a free dress, pair of shoes, jewelry and makeup, as well as the chance to enter and win a free hair updo and nails, as part of the second annual Free Prom Dress event.
“When I opened the boutique last year, I wanted to find some kind of community service that related to the boutique and made sense with my business,” Raine Boutique owner Taylor Hall said. “There’s coat drives and there’s clothes and all the high school girls were shopping there so I wanted to help them, too.”
The free dress event wasn’t just for the prom but other events like spring dances, where the attire of a young lady would stand out.
Alisa Bohanon, who is in the seventh grade at Andrews Middle School, giggled while saying, “I feel perfect. I think this is the dress, and I absolutely love it. This is my first dance, and I’m so excited.”
The girls were called upstairs on a first-come, first-serve basis, as others patiently waited downstairs with refreshments for their turn. Once upstairs, each young lady could pursue several racks of brightly colored and glittery short and long dresses.
They then tried on their finds for that perfect fit.
The girls were also able to choose a pair of shoes to go with their dress, and jewelry and makeup were included. All of the items were donated by local residents and businesses, making it free to the young ladies preparing for their big day.
A photo booth was also available for the young ladies to captured an exciting moment in their lives.
