Brasstown – John C. Campbell Folk School’s Fall Festival returns from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The festival is a one-of-a-kind event that offers something for the entire family, with more than 200 craft and food vendors, music and dance performances on two stages, and traditional craft demonstrations – all taking part on the school’s sprawling 270-acre campus.
“Our Fall Festival has become a beloved event because, at its core, it brings people together,” said Morgan Budzinski, the folk school’s event and volunteer manager and primary coordinator of the occasion.
“Over 10,000 people come to our festival each year, but you’ll never feel like another face in the crowd. You’ll find plenty of opportunities to discover a new craft, connect with other makers and community members and, most importantly, experience a little bit of the magic that makes the folk school a destination for folks all over the world.”
There’s a wide variety of food vendors this year – more than in years past – but you’ll want to save room for the folk school’s famed barbecue. Chef Terra and her team have been smoking pork for days, perfecting a seasoning blend that’ll leave your mouth watering for more. The folk school’s food booth will also have vegetarian options available.
A premiere destination since 1974, the folk school’s Fall Festival offers an unforgettable and spectacular way to celebrate Appalachian culture.
Regular admission tickets are $12 for ages 18 and up, $10 for ages 12-17, $10 for ages 65 and up as well as veterans, and free for ages 12 and under. Tickets will be available for purchase at the festival gates with cash only.
Visitors are encouraged to buy tickets online to avoid long lines and help with traffic flow at folkschool.org/fallfestival.
