Andrews - As the craft season starts to wind down the town of Andrews is gearing up for one of their largest festivals on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Main Street.
The 11th annual Christmas on Main Street festival will offer fun for the entire family. The day’s events will begin at 10 a.m. with an opening ceremony, prayer and a tree dedication at the steps of the Andrews United Methodist Church. A Memorial ceremony remembering those lost in 2024, by Four Seasons, will follow.
If you enjoy music the event will have plenty of it including Troy Underwood from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Betty Vaughn & Friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. and the Sundown Band from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the Main Stage.
Other musical groups that will perform on the steps of Andrews United Methodist Church will include: First Baptist Church, the Andrews High School Chorus, AHS Band, Roy Perren, Little Brasstown Baptist Church, Mountainview Church, Valleytown Baptist Church, Junaluska Baptist Church and the EKG Harmonizers.
With 163 vendors and 210 booths there will be just about something for everyone including a car show.
Crafters will be displaying all types of interesting creations just in time for the Christmas shopping season.
Food trucks and snack vendors will keep bellies filled and there will be plenty of things for kids to do including face painting, bounce house, bubbles, pony rides, a petting zoo, rock painting and sidewalk chalk. Stop by and check out the Young Entrepreneurs Market on Locust Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the Cultural Arts Building inviting folks to capture that perfect photo for holiday memories from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Nate the Magician will be perusing around from 1-3 p.m.
Be sure not to miss the Victorian Carolers who will be entertaining folks will that ol’ time feeling of street singing on Locust Street from 1-2 p.m.
This once a year signature event will be too much fun to miss and it’s all happening in downtown Andrews. Main Street’s beautifully handcrafted additions add to the feel of a Christmas from childhood with wintery sights and scents.
Maps for the event will be available at the festival entrance and shops will also be open.
