The Town of Andrews’ Christmas tree was lit Nov. 19 during Christmas on Main Street.
Andrews – The town is shaking up tradition this year during their Christmas parade, which is set for Saturday night.
Parade officials have expanded their route to commence at West End Plaza promptly at 5:30 p.m. The floats, cars and motorcycles will pass through downtown in a three hour-long holiday event, with vehicles ending at Industrial Opportunities Inc. and walkers cutting off at Andrews First Baptist Church.
Despite an early report that the Grinch will make an appearance, children can be assured that Santa, a select number of his elves and candy-throwing volunteers will make certain this Christmas parade is the best ever, officials said. Trophies will be given to those who place first, second or third.
Mr. Claus will be available for pictures on Cocoa Alley after the parade from 7:30-9:30 p.m., but his reindeer must return to the North Pole as the photo session will be past their bedtime. This event, which is sponsored by the Town of Andrews, is open and free to the public.
