Andrews – With only four months in their new turns as executive director and events coordinator, respectively, Shannan Kelly and Alaina Trull both have resigned from the Andrews Chamber of Commerce.
Trull, whose last day was June 13, has left to pursue a full-time position with Andrews High School, where she taught science several years ago. She will also remain a real estate agent with Valleytown Realty.
In her resignation letter, Kelly said she wished “the chamber continued success and growth.” Kelly added that her “goal has always been to support and uplift our town,” and she would “continue to do so in any way [possible] outside of this role.”
Kelly’s last day was Monday. She’s looking forward to joining her son, Jacob, in his move to New York City upon his recent graduation from Pace University. While Kelly said she has enjoyed her time with the chamber, this is an opportunity she could not turn down.
Andrews Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors President Curt Steinlage called the duo’s departure “disappointing.”
The chamber is working on how to keep the office as a community drop-off point for UPS packages. Board member Jan Olson said they’re working with other board members to facilitate volunteering during weekdays to keep the chamber’s office open until a new director is hired.
Hours this week are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to noon Thursday and closed Friday.
Olson said both positions will be posted soon. Candidates will be considered immediately after those postings are made available.
The board of directors, along with former executive director Nola Cooper, had already planned and scheduled the chamber’s major events for 2025, including Food Truck Fridays, which were moved by the board to the fourth Friday of each month through October, along with the staple events of Oktoberfest and Christmas on Main. No event changes are anticipated.
