Andrews – The holiday season gets started this weekend, coinciding with the annual Christmas on Main festival, with two new plays presented by the Community Youth Players and ACT2 Players.
North Pole’s Got Talent is a reality-talent show posed by the inhabitants of the North Pole. It should delight kids of all ages with its emphasis on carols and varied performances from beloved characters, including Jack Frost and reindeer well-known for their games.
On the heels of that performance, the adult players bring a touch of nostalgia with A WWII Radio Christmas, featuring those days of old radio with plenty of onstage characters gathering around microphones, while providing a glimpse of what life was like before the digital age.
Showtimes for North Pole’s Got Talent are 7 p.m. Friday, with matinees at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $5 each, with ages 5 and under free.
Showtimes for A WWII Radio Christmas are 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 and Nov. 25. Matinees will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19 and Nov. 26 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10.
All performances will be held at the Valleytown Cultural Arts Center, 125 Chestnut St. downtown.
