NCWorks, local employers work to fill openings

Murphy – NCWorks and 11 local employers, held a Drive-Through Job Fair on Friday.

Cloe the Career Advising Clown was on hand to guide interested job seekers in for career opportunities. More than 50 individuals were able to meet with, complete applications and interview for employment opportunities.

  • Team Industries (828-835-4029) is seeking 15-20 workers in various positions and shifts. Starting pay begins at $12 an hour with added shift differentials.
  • Accuforce (828-644-8424) is staffing with several companies on various shifts.
  • Lowe’s (apply at store) is hiring for both seasonal and regular employment in various departments.
  • Murphy Rehab & Nursing (828-837-7583) with openings for CNAs, LPN, RN, housekeeping, support workers and dietary.
  • Appalachian Community Services (828-835-3041) is hiring for various positions, with flexible hours plus full- and part-time employment opportunities.
  • Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa (706-379-9900) has open positions for all areas of service, from stables, spa, food, beverage or hospitality services.
  • McDonald’s (apply in person at Murphy location) offering free online GED programs, excellent opportunities for advancement and various shifts with a hiring bonus.
  • Health Care Services Group (336-309-0793) openings within care homes for housekeeping, dietary and support staff.
  • Panel Built (800-636-3873) has openings in: accounting, engineering, production, office administration and shipping. Starting wages begin around $15 an hour, with employment in both Blairsville and Blue Ridge, Ga.
  • Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel (828-422-5138) with hiring bonuses, flexible shifts and various positions available.
  • Tri-County Community College (828-837-6810) offering GED classes, continuing education and college credit/transfer opportunities.
