Murphy rescinds virus restrictions

    Murphy – The Town of Murphy has rescinded some restrictions related to COVID-19.
    Mayor Rick Ramsey rescinded restrictions to the baseball and soccer fields last week, as well as the basketball, tennis and pickleball courts. However, all playgrounds remain closed.
    Ramsey rescinded restrictions that prevented property owners from renting their homes or hotel rooms. He also rescinded an order that required part-time residents with secondary property to notify the health department and self-quarantine for 14 days upon entering Murphy.
    The State of Emergency declaration remains in effect for both Andrews, Murphy and Cherokee County.
