For the first time since mid-March, all elementary students who wanted face-to-face learning were together in their school buildings Monday.
Lead nurse Heather Watson and Superintendent Jeana Conley both said things went well Monday morning as more students were screened before entering the buildings.
“I’ve heard it was amazingly smooth,” Conley said.
The district ended the previous week with one student actively positive with the virus, while two staff members actively positive.
At Tri-County Community College in Peachtree, one building on campus was closed for a day for deep cleaning. Bo Gray, vice president for college and community initiatives, said some fall semester classes have had some temporary disruptions due to COVID-19, but no cases originated on campus.
“Thankfully, we continue with seated and online instruction with no major interruptions,” Gray said.
“We did our best to plan wisely and well, and have been very careful to follow both federal and state guidelines and protocols.”
