Murphy – Four people were arrested last month on drug offenses stemming from an incident at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel.

Beulah Hanson, 49, and Richard Lamb, 66, both of Topton, are accused of possessing 32.6 grams of methamphetamine after authorities raided a casino hotel room on Nov. 19. Their arrest warrants say Hanson and Lamb were both in the room, and each of them had the key code to the safe where the drugs may have been found.

On that same date, authorities arrested Elizabeth Trantham, 23, of Copperhill, Tenn., and James Willingham, 37, of Blue Ridge, Ga. Their warrants say Trantham and Willingham possessed heroin and more than a half ounce of marijuana when authorities apprehended them on casino property.

Court documents do not specify whether Trantham and Willingham were in the room when police arrested Hanson and Lamb. Nor is it clear whether Trantham’s and Willingham’s arrests were connected to the raid.

Officials from the Cherokee Indian Police Department did not return a message seeking comment. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office did not participate in the arrests and could not comment on the cases.

Hanson and Lamb are each charged with felony drug trafficking and distribution offenses. Trantham and Willingham are each charged with felony heroin possession and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
