Hiawassee, Ga. – The Ridges Resort on Lake Chatuge was selected by a national network to be the filming location of a reality television show.
Duke Hospitality, the management company of the resort, announced the filming would take place over the next several weeks. In the release, the resort’s general manager, Kristin Hogsed, said they wanted to be transparent with the community, but also wanted to respect the confidentiality of the production.
The Georgia Department of Economic Development listed 14 reality shows in production or prepping in the state, including Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta, Food Network’s Good Eats, and Fox’s Divorce Court, but none of them appear to be dating shows.
There were rumors the production involved Oprah Winfrey, but Wesley Dowdy, chairman and CEO of Duke Hospitality, tried to squash those rumors running rampant on social media.
“Oprah nor her crew are at the resort,” Dowdy wrote to commenters.
The Ridges Resort recently temporarily changed its policies to only accept long-term buyouts and extended-stay opportunities during state’s COVID-19 restrictions.
The resort features 66 rooms, 10 villas, plus several indoor and outdoor meeting locations. It is also the home of The Ridges Marina.
