Bobbie Jean Robertson, 88, of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, in a Union County, Ga., care facility.
She was a native of Cherokee County, where she had lived most of her life.
Bobbie worked in the textile industry, working in Murphy, Sylva and Waynesville. She was a member of Tomotla Baptist Church where she helped with VBS.
Bobbie enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was the daughter of the late Otis and Geneva James Tanner, and wife of the late John D. Robertson, who died July 2, 1994.
Surviving are a son, Hal Robertson and wife Jodi of Murphy; two grandchildren, Tyler and Emily Robertson; one brother, James Tanner and wife Emma of Murphy; and she is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, with the Rev. Harold Stiles officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Donald Worrell, Ben Ward, Bryce Smiley, Jake Worrell, Robbie Ellison and Chris Scerri. Honorary pallbearers will be Eldon Roberts, Marvin Adams, Rod Tanner, Lee Tanner, Brent Adams, Glen Roberts and Josh Tanner.
The family will receive friends from 9-10:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made in memory of Bobbie Jean Robertson to Tomotla Baptist Church, 262 Hayes Road, Marble, NC 28905.
