Dennis Tromblay
Dennis Bernard Tromblay, 75, of Murphy, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021.
Dennis was born Dec. 14, 1946, in Saginaw, Mich., to Vivian (Perry) Tromblay and Joseph L.K. Tromblay. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul B. Tromblay.
Dennis was a true renaissance man. He started his career as the youngest manager of Bell South Telephone Co, then owned and drove long haul trucks. He established American Energy Billing Company, and sold the successful business to retire at the age of 55.
Always an active man, Dennis was employed as an engineering technician at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel until his sudden illness.
He could also play a mean saxophone. Music was a passion of his, along with traveling in and out of the country.
Dennis was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. There wasn’t a problem that he couldn’t fix, whether household, mechanical or just soothing ruffled feathers. There was not a person he didn’t call a friend. He was loving, caring and, most importantly, the most giving and charitable person. He had a huge heart.
He was an avid and amazing landscaper and gardener, he was blessed with the proverbial “green thumb” and our lives were enriched by his talents. His specialty was roses, and they were phenomenal.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce of Murphy; daughter, Kristine Tromblay Aboujja and husband Brahim of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; son, Jason and wife Kathryn of Dacula, Ga.; brother, Keith of Blacksburg, Va.; grandsons, Clayton, son of Paul Tromblay, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Youssef and Zackary Aboujja of Port St. Lucie, Fla., granddaughter Lilith, daughter of Paul Tromblay, Washington, D.C., and Claire Tromblay of Dacula, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A private family service will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
