Andrews – Cherokee County Toys for Tots is partnering with the Western North Carolina Wingman Motorcycle Club for the second year to raise funds for nonprofit organizations that give Christmas gifts to local children.
Barbara Hudson, coordinator of Cherokee County Toys for Tots, said the motorcycle run in 2020 raised more than $6,000 despite COVID-19 restrictions.
“The wingmen approached us last year about helping raise funds for Toys for Tots,” Hudson said. “Last year’s event was successful, but this year we are hoping for a bigger turnout.”
Last year’s event had 130 motorcycles register, and this year they are planning for more. The Western North Carolina Wingmen Motorcycle Club was founded in 1979 and have chapters from New York to Florida, all along the East Coast.
Registration for the motorcycle run will begin at noon Saturday at Ronnie’s, 75 Wilson St. Registration is $20 per bike, and the run begins at 1 p.m.
The ride will end at the Western NC Wingmen Clubhouse, 1856 Alarka Road in Bryson City. There will be a car show featuring vintage cars, Jeeps, 4x4 and rat rods.
All cars for the car show are asked to be at the clubhouse and registered before the motorcycles arrive. Registration for the car show are $20 per vehicle.
There will also be live music by a local band and a hot dog lunch. There will be a 50/50 raffle, and all proceeds will go to Cherokee County Toys for Tots.

for Tots distributed unwrapped Christmas presents to more than 1,000 local families last year. Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the distribution was a drive-through event, a first for the local nonprofit organization. For details, call 828-736-8637.
