MURPHY – American Idol Season 24 finalist and Murphy resident Braden Rumfelt treated his hometown to a free serenade Friday, June 12 at Konehete Veterans Park.
For fans, hints of severe weather yielded a warm and not-too wet welcome. Volunteers from First Free Will Baptist Church of Hayesville organized the event which included food.
Rumfelt placed 4th in the season.
Rumfelt’s website, bradenrumfeltmusic.com, describes Rumfelt as “a passionate singer-songwriter with a voice shaped by faith, family, and real-life experiences. “Braden learned early that songs have the power to heal, inspire, and bring people together.”
On a technical level, the website describes Braden’s sound as “blending heartfelt lyrics with raw, emotional vocals, aiming to connect with listeners in an honest and meaningful way.”
But the bottom line for Rumfelt, is purpose. “Auditioning for American Idol is a step of courage and obedience, trusting that the gift he’s been given can make an impact far beyond himself.”
And it has.
