Peachtree – An early morning collision on U.S. 64 between two pickup trucks led to one death and two injuries Thursday.
A 2024 GMC pickup driven by Corey David Hall, 39, of Murphy, drifted past the center line and collided with a 2008 Dodge pickup driven by Thomas John Songer near McCombs Road around 6 a.m. Thursday, according to a N.C. Highway Patrol report.
Hall was traveling west on U.S. 64, while Songer was traveling east on the highway. Hall’s vehicle traveled left of center, striking Singer’s vehicle in the eastbound travel lane, the Highway Patrol reported.
Hall was taken to Erlanger Western Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries in the collision. An unidentified female passenger in Hall’s vehicle was treated for minor injuries at Erlanger, the Highway Patrol reported.
Songer, the driver of the eastbound pickup, was also treated at Erlanger for his injuries.
Hall was born in Blairsville, Ga., and worked as a trailer salesman, according to an obituary at Townson-Rose Funeral Home. He was married with three children.
