Murphy – Child rape filmed by an adult; child pornography shared via social media; and attempted murder by poisoning. Court documents unsealed by a federal judge outline a shocking tale that local authorities are working to unravel.

Court documents show police are trying to determine whether a local man raped three minor children and filmed the acts. The explosive allegations came to light last week, when a federal judge unsealed documents related to the arrest of 33-year-old Micaiah Noel Naylor, who is being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center on a $20,000 secured bond.

Naylor was arrested on Aug. 27, after federal agents and detectives with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office raided his home in Murphy. The raid followed an initial investigation that allegedly revealed Naylor shared child pornography images via Snapchat in December 2019 and June of this year.

Court documents allege Naylor shared two images in December, each of which depicted a nude prepubescent girl. One of those images included an adult woman performing a sex act on the young child. Authorities say an image shared in June depicts two nude prepubescent boys less than 10 years of age, one performing a sex act on the other.

Court documents say the image shared in June was uploaded by a different Snapchat username than the images distributed in December. However, each Snapchat user provided the exact same cell phone number, which was issued to a prepaid TracFone Wireless account registered to Naylor’s name and address.

When police arrested Naylor last month, they found him at an acquaintance’s home near his property. The information shared by the acquaintance convinced a federal judge to grant a warrant to search digital devices found in her house that may contain evidence of child pornography produced by Naylor.

The woman allegedly told detectives she met Naylor about two years ago at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel, where they

both worked as table dealers. She said Naylor started spending the night with her in June and brought his laptop and iPad to her residence.

The woman reportedly told authorities that Naylor admitted viewing child pornography and felt “ashamed” for doing so. Naylor allegedly told her he has “suicidal thoughts” because he cannot stop thinking about underage children.

She also told police Naylor admitted he destroyed microcards and five cell phones that contained what he described as “my porn.” When asked to clarify the statement, the woman said “my porn” referred to videos of Naylor engaging in sex acts with three minor children.

Naylor allegedly told her that while he was living with local friends a couple years ago, he engaged in sex with their three minor children and filmed the exploitation. Naylor reportedly told her that he and the children “would engage in a contest to see who could [perform sex acts] the best.”

Court documents say Naylor also told her one of the children had been sending him Snapchat videos of himself, which he classified as “child porn.”

The woman further alleges Naylor admitted having sexual contact with at least one other underage child and also told her about disputes with relatives who were angry about the matter. Adding further shock to the documents, Naylor allegedly tried to poison a step-relative “because he felt she was trying to get him in trouble.”

Naylor’s acquaintance has three children, according to court documents, which say she hired two juvenile babysitters to watch her kids while she worked during the overnight hours because she “did not want the children alone with Naylor for that long” following his admission to liking young children. Both of those babysitters were in the house with Naylor and his acquaintance on the day of his arrest.

On Sept. 21, a judge granted permission for law enforcement officials to search the laptop and iPad the acquaintance gave to a detective who interviewed her. The judge’s order and the application for a warrant to search the devices were unsealed on Sept. 23.

At the time of his arrest, Naylor was charged with six counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in connection with the images shared via Snapchat. If detectives find child pornography on the devices seized at his acquaintance’s house, Naylor may face additional charges.
