    Terry F. Bateman, 65, of Andrews, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022.
    Terry was born in Andrews, and he served in the U.S. Army for 15 years.
    Terry would share Jesus with everyone he met, and he loved to spend time with his family.
    He was the son of Cecilia Holloway Bateman of Topton and the late Johnny Lee Bateman. He was also preceded in death by his great-grandchild, Mycah.
    Affectionately known to his family as “Bubba,” he is survived, in addition to his mother, by his wife of over 42 years, Debbie Bateman, of Andrews; daughters, Crystal, Beverly, Kimberly and Debbie Jo (husband, Staff Sgt. Jeffrey Bevington); sister, Cheryl; brothers, Jody and Travis; 19 grandchildren, Talia, Tayana, Makhi, Aliajah, Ebony, Emmett, Asia, Josiah, Brian, Blake, Kaleann, Lexi, Mikey, Kira, Charlie, Franky, Rosemary, John and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Shaylynn, Rylan, Zayne, Nolan, Knox, Myles (on the way) and Amylia (on the way); several nieces and nephews.
    A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at Red Marble Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Postell officiating. The interment was in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Hayesville VFW Post 6812, Hayesville American Legion Post 532 and Murphy American Legion Post 96. Pallbearers were Makhi Smith, Aliajah Pinckney, Brian Stalcup, Jake Smith, Jody Bateman and SSG Jeff Bevington.
    The family received friends from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews.
    Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, was in charge of all arrangements.
