    Mary Joan (née Lunenschloss) Hackley, formerly of Chalfont, Pa., died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, of natural causes at the age of 86 years. She passed peacefully in Nashua, N.H., surrounded by immediate family.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Winslow Hackley, and her son, Gregory Charles Hackley.
    Mary and Lloyd were happily married for 43 wonderful years.
    Mary is survived her sons, Stephen L. Hackley married to Donna (Czerniakowski) Hackley, Boston, Mass.; Christopher J. Hackley married to Annmarie (Whalen) Hackley, Ottsville, Pa.; and Neil T. Hackley married to Kelly (Lange) Hackley, Tampa, Fla. Mary was blessed with eight grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy: Hannah, Madison, Caroline, Cara, Katherine, Christopher, Kinsey and Josie Hackley.
    Mary’s sons and grandchildren were the focus of her life, and she reveled in their company. She was a woman of strong faith and principled conviction. She led an exemplary life of service to her family and her community.
    Mary was awarded an undergraduate and master’s degree from Arizona State University. She taught for many years at the Bucks County Intermediate Unit for the visually impaired and continued teaching for 10 more years in Pinellas County, Fla.
    Mary and Lloyd relocated to Murphy and enjoyed early retirement with lots of opportunities for fun and travel. They could be found playing bridge, volunteering at their church, walking their dog, Buddy, around Lake Wells, and visiting with friends. They were blessed with many enduring and treasured friendships. Their times in both Chalfont and Murphy were particularly rich with these cherished and faithful friends. Mary will be terribly missed by all who knew her.
    A funeral Mass was held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford, Mass. All are welcome.
    Inurnment will take place at St. William Catholic Church, Murphy, in Spring 2022 with a Celebration of Life and Legacy.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mary’s honor to The Salvation Army Suncoast Adult Rehabilitation Center and Family Stores, 5885 66th St. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33709.
    The Cremation Society of New Hampshire has been entrusted with arrangements.
