    Thomasine “Tomi” Almond Van Horn, 84, of Milledgeville, Ga., formerly of Andrews, passed away Friday, Sept. 3, 2021.
    Tomi was a native of Andrews and had made her home in Milledgeville since 1995 having moved from El Paso, Texas.
    Mrs. Van Horn was a member of the Episcopal Church and had been a Red Cross volunteer for most of her life.
    She was the daughter of the late Charles Winslow Almond and Janette Derreberry Almond, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Clyde Almond and Fred Dennis Almond; and three sisters, Julia Alice Almond Truett, Helen Ruth Stamey and Bessie Geneva Almond Hembree.
    She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Col. Fred Van Horn, retired; a daughter, Mary Jennifer Myers (Daniel) of Macon, Ga.; a grandson, Declan Christopher Myers; a granddaughter, Betsy Kate Myers; and a sister, Mable Maxine Anderson of Robbinsville.
    An inurnment will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, in Moss Cemetery in Marble with Pastor Maggie Rourk officiating.
    Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, is in charge of local arrangements.
