    Sheila Ann Crawford Luther, 69, of Andrews, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021, after a brief illness.
    Sheila was the daughter of the late Doyle and Frankie Crawford.
    She was a homemaker and also worked with her husband, who was a self employed contractor. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
    She enjoyed spending time with her family, long walks on the beach, cooking, taking care of her horse, Star, and feeding squirrels, which came to the porch and ate treats from her hand. Sheila was a bargain hunter and loved finding unique treasures at thrift stores.
    Sheila was a strong, independent woman who believed in working hard, being honest, treating others with respect and always doing what was right. She spent her life caring for her family and friends. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was always committing anonymous random acts of kindness.
    She was of the Lutheran faith.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Hardy Luther; daughter, Sonia Gregory; brother, Jeffrey Crawford; mother and father-in-law, Giles and Bonnie Luther; and brothers-in-law, Mike Bristol and Corbert Luther.
    She is survived by a daughter, Tonia Lands and husband Tommy of Hayesville; three granddaughters, Heather Rogers and husband Dylan of Hayesville, Hannah Bowers and husband Drew of Bryson City, and Lauren Curtis and husband Dylan of Hayesville; three great-grandchildren, Luke and Mason Bowers and Kyhlee Rogers; two sisters, Sherry Moore and husband Bill of Asheville, and Shelley Bristol of Andrews; one brother, Jack Crawford of Andrews; son-in-law, Jeff Gregory; two sisters-in-law, Debbie Young and husband James, and Marilyn Luther, all of Andrews; and several nieces and nephews, along with great nieces and nephews.
    A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. The Rev. Dr. Maggie Rourk officiated. Burial was at Valley River Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Scott Jenkins, David Williams, Michael Higdon, Brian Darcy, Jesse Rich and Matthew Wood. Honorary pallbearers were James Young, Ken Hembree and Bill Moore.
    The family received friends from noon-2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
