Kenneth Bateman, 84, of Andrews, passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021.
Kenneth was born July 17, 1937, in Macon County to the late Carl and Eula Cope Bateman.
He was a repairman for Baker Furniture Manufacturing. Kenneth was a member of Valleytown Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Paul and Eldridge Bateman; sisters, Ethel Bateman, Doralee Passmore and Betty Jean Bateman.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Bateman; son, James Bateman (Cynthia); daughter, Missy Evans (Ray); sister, Francis Mitz; grandchildren, Amanda McCoy, Megan McLean, Dakota Bateman, Derek Bateman and Donovan Bateman; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. The Rev. Jim Cochran officiated. Music was conducted by family. Burial was in Briartown Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dakota Bateman, Derek Bateman, Donovan Bateman, Dillon McLean, Cole McCoy, Adam McLean, Kevin Hawkins and Eldridge Bateman Jr.
The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
