    Julia Mae Bridges, 50, of McCaysville, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, at her residence following an extended illness. 
    She was born Dec. 8, 1970, in Murphy.
    She was a member of Little Glade Baptist Church in Murphy. 
    Julia had worked as CNA and medical aide for a number of years in the tri-state area.
    She was preceded in death by her father, William Harold Johnson; and one brother, Richard Rex Johnson.
    Survivors include her husband, Van Phillips of the home; son and fiancee, Marcus Edward Brown and Miranda York of Ducktown, Tenn.; daughters and son-in-law, Cassandra Mae and Bradley Jessen of Ducktown, Tenn., and Selina Marie Brown of McCaysville, Ga.; mother, Bertha Lee Johnson of Murphy; grandchildren, Aurora Mae Jessen, Ashlyn Marie Jessen and Parker Edward Brown; and one brother, Darrin Johnson.
    Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, from Akins Funeral Home Chapel in Copperhill, Tenn., with the Rev. Ronnie Palmer officiating. Interment followed in Crestlawn Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Brett Sisson, Jonathan Grizzell, Devin Lee, Bradley Jessen, Marcus Brown and Jared Brown.
