John Christopher Eversoll, 80, of Murphy, passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, in a Murphy hospital.
John was the son of the late Dr. Norton Eversoll and Emily Lindsey Eversoll.
He was a graduate of Riverside Military Academy in Savannah, Ga., and Jacksonville College. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, and he retired from Murphy Medical Center Hospital in 2004.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Wayne Draper.
John is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carol, of Murphy; daughter, Emily Wheat (Mike) of Petal, Miss.; son, Chris Eversoll (Sonya) of Sumrall, Miss.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Hardesty of Denver, Colo.; and close friends, Bob and Loree Truitt of Huntsville, Ala.
A memorial service will be held with his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those desiring plant a tree in memory of John.
Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, is in charge of arrangements.
