    John Timothy Coffey, 48, of Marble, passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2021.
    He was born April 11, 1973, in Cherokee County to the late Clyde and Kay Lance Coffey.
    John worked with Duke Energy as a lineman/engineer and was a workaholic.
    John loved cars, drag racing, burnouts and was a gear head. He lived his life a quarter mile at a time. He was a Mustang fanatic and founded Marble Mustangs.
    John was involved in athletics at Andrews High School and was very proud of opening Coffey Customs.
    His greatest accomplishment was his kids. He was very proud of all that he had accomplished.
    John was of the Baptist faith and a member of Junaluska Baptist Church.
    In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, James Taylor and Jerry Wayne Coffey; and sister, Linda Rhodes.
    John is survived by his wife, Amber Byram Coffey; son, Mathew Dillon Coffey (Haley West Coffey); daughter, Morgan Taylor Coffey; adopted son, Dilon Brown; brothers, Dan Taylor and David Coffey; sisters, Wanda Phillips and Debbie Lee; several nieces, nephews and cousins, too many to list; and fur babies, Jade and Zoey.
    A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Pastor Tulley Griggs and Clark Taylor officiated.
    The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
