    James William Moneymaker, 80, of Murphy, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021.
    He was the son of the late Horace Alexander and Eugenia Mae Burrell Moneymaker, born Nov. 29, 1940.
    James was owner and operator of his own real estate agency. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Anthony and one granddaughter, Amber.
    He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth Moneymaker; two sons, Michael and Horace; four daughters, Connie, Sherry, Tracy and Jamie; 14 grandchildren, Alisha, Ashley, Jessica, Cody, William, Dwayne, Dillon, Andrew, Haley, Emily, Emma, Shaeley, Michael and Razzy; and 11 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Rev. Patrick Garrett officiated. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery with military graveside conducted by the American Legion Post No. 96 Murphy, American Legion Post No. 532 Hayesville and VFW Post No. 6812 Hayesville. Pallbearers were Mike Moneymaker, Horace Moneymaker, Andrew Moneymaker, Rocky Neal, Dwayne Neal, Dillon Neal and Cody Teesateskee.
    The family received friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
