Donnie Oma Roberson Mason went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 3, 2021, surrounded by family.
She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Iowa Isabella Raper Roberson.
Donnie was a deflasher for electronic components.
She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and had attended Shady Grove Baptist Church.
After Donnie retired, she enjoyed the outdoors working in the garden, flowers and was still weed eating at age 80. She quilted some of the most beautiful quilts in the country, even as she got bedridden, she still wanted a needle and thread.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Clemson Mason; daughter, Carolyn Mason; brothers, A.J. Walter and Wayne Roberson; sisters, Etta and Nona Anderson; and grandson, Terry.
Surviving are her sons, Rayburn (Judy) Mason and Shane Mason; daughters, Mavis West and P-Nut Mason, all of the Murphy area; grandchildren, Toni, Sissy, Jennifer, Jamie and Logan; great-grandchildren, Stephen, Ceairah, Sarah, Dalton, Johnathan, Rae, Eli and J.D.; great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Adilyn and Lydon; special friends, Joan, Nancy, Charlie and all personnel from hospice and home health, Good Shepherd.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy. Pastor Steve Ware officiated. Music was conducted by Elaine Young and George VanBuskirk. Burial was at Shady Grove Baptist Church.
