    Daniel “Danny” William Graves, 64, of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, in a Murphy hospital.  
    A native and lifelong resident of Murphy, Danny was a member of Grape Creek Baptist Church for 50 years.
    He had worked as a mechanic and loved working on Chevrolets and Hot Rods. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.  
    He was the son of the late Rev. Roy and Mary Brown Graves. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Angela Michelle Graves.
    Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Gilreath Graves of Murphy; two daughters, Angela Michelle Graves and Samantha Laney Burgess and husband John; two sisters, Melissa Graves, and Hilda King and husband W.C.; and one brother, Jeffrey Graves and wife Autumn, all of Murphy. He was a proud Poppi to his two loving grandchildren, Gianna Mayner and Keython Allen, who he enjoyed teaching how to work on cars. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, with the Rev. Harold Stiles officiating. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19.  
    Interment was in Old Martins Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robbie Pierce, Brian King, Jonathan King, John Burgess, Charlie Graves and Curtis Gilreath. Honorary pallbearers were Keython Allen, W.C. King, Keevon Allen and Danny Carroll.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Daniel Graves to the American Lung Association, 1466 Riverside Dr. Suite D, Chattanooga, TN 37406.
    Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, was in charge of all arrangements.
