    Carol “Monk” Gunter, 59, of Andrews, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021.
    She was a native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County.
    Carol worked in the medical field for more than 30 years. Carol had a passion for cosmetology, which she did alongside her best friend, Lisa McClure, for many years.
    She loved her family, friends, and her two dogs, Phoenix and Harley, unconditionally. Carol enjoyed being outside doing yard work, going to the beach, and being with the ones she loved the most.
    Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby “Boomer” Rogers, in 2011.
    Carol was the daughter of Bob and Mildred Rogers of Andrews.
    In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter, Ashley Gunter Bryant and husband Brandon; a half son, Vane Gunter; two sisters, Ann Stembridge and husband Eric, and Brenda Rogers; two brothers, David Rogers and James Rogers, all of Andrews. She has a special little guy who loved her dearly, Tanner Radford; a granddaughter, Kinsley Gunter; three nieces, Kristen Miller and husband Randy of Anderson, S.C., and Alisha Hyde and Morgan Rodgers, both of Andrews; and a nephew, Travis Rogers of Andrews; two great-nieces, Anna Miller and Mackenzie Pace; and two great-nephews, Bryce Carpenter and Dalton Pace.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, with the Revs. Eddie Hardin and Bo Phillips officiating. The interment was in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Vane Gunter, Tony Postell, Randy Miller, Eric Stembridge, Dalton Pace and Daimen Deetz. Honorary pallbearers were Tanner Radford and Bryce Carpenter.
    The family received friends from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, prior to the services.
    The family requested those who attend to please wear a mask.
