C. Sam White, 85, of Cumming, Ga., passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2022.
He was a native of Cherokee County but had lived in the metro Atlanta area for the past 65 years.
He started in insurance when he got to Atlanta and became a State Farm agent for 43 years. Sam was a member of the Atlanta Athletic Club, Chattanooga Yacht Club and Georgia Model Aviators. He was very active and was an avid tennis player.
He was the son of the late Cyrus C. and Sallie Kisselburg White. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Elizabeth Lunsford.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Anna Faulkner White; three sons, C. Sam White II, Maury White and Monty White, all of Atlanta; a sister, Annette Gordon of York, S.C.; and six grandchildren, Hannah, Carson, Strother (Grace), Avery, Samantha and Hank White.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, with the Rev. Mark Malcolm officiating. Inurnment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1-1:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home prior to the service.
