HD's Anderson runs 14th at state

    Kernersville – In a field packed with 131 runners, to finish 14th is quite the accomplishment.
    For Hiwassee Dam Eagle C.J. Anderson, accomplishing that feat at the 1A State Championship meet in Kernersville Saturday gave him bragging rights as the top boys runner at the meet from Cherokee County.
    Anderson turned in a time of 17:16.19 to lock up 14th, almost two seconds ahead of the 15th-place finisher. He was the sole runner that represented Hiwassee Dam at the meet.
    Tri-County Trio Wrap Up Jaguars Season
    Three runners from Tri-County Early College helped conclude the season for the Jaguars.
    In the girls race, Sydney Bolyard placed 37th with a time of 22:13.21, while Lucy Crayton finishes 122nd with a time of 27:22.41. Meanwhile, Kameron Brown secured 44th in the boys race, crossing the finish line at the 18:05.66 mark.
