The September 6 edition of the Cherokee Scout is out ... Brasstown says good bye, Vietnam wall coming to town, schools combat bullying and more
Brasstown – Folks kept coming in, some just to say hello and goodbye.
Others brought various edible delights, and before too long there was an impromptu supper in the back of Clay’s Corner, the store local residents have come to know and love for the last three decades.
“It’s a big chunk of the past that is going to be gone,” said Melvin Cantrell, who was hanging out with friends on the store’s final day Thursday.
“It’s part of our identity down here, and I hate to see it go.”
