Ronnie Edward Shields, 60, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, in Bowling Green, Ky.
He was born in Polk County, Tenn., to the late Rev. Hadley C. Shields and Helen Mull Shields.
Ronnie had worked with QSI in Chattanooga, Tenn., as a trainer. He was a godly man. Ronnie loved spending time with his family, cleaning house and his dogs. He enjoyed music and storytelling.
He is survived by his loving wife, Robbie Trantham Shields; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Jennifer Shields of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sons, Chris Trantham and Jonathan Trantham, both of Murphy; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Cody Thrasher of Murphy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Mike Gazaway of Rex, Ga., Diane and Jim Blair of Cape Coral, Fla., and Rita and Gerald Mathis of Blairsville, Ga.; grandchildren, Abigail Shields, Isabelle Shields, Eden Thrasher and Brandon Thrasher; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Townson-Roses Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Dr. Eddis Dockery officiated. Burial was in Owl Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jonathan Trantham, Adam Mathis, Chris Nations, Andrew Cheeks, Aaron Roberts and Cody Thrasher. Honorary pallbearer was Jim Blair.
The family received friends from noon-2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
