Robert “Bob” Hawkins, 82, of Murphy, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016, at Copper Basin Medical Center in Copperhill, Tenn.
He was born in Polk County, Tenn., to the late Samuel and Lennie LeFever Hawkins.
Bob worked for the Tennessee Copper Mines. He enjoyed making billfolds. Bob enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
He was a member of Ranger Baptist Church and Masonic Montgomery Lodge 426 AF&AM.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara “Ann” Foster Hawkins; one daughter, Brenda Thomas and husband Michael of Epworth, Ga.; one granddaughter, Bobbie Jane Arp and husband Brian Arp; and two great-grandchildren, Dexter Arp and BreKailyn Arp.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Ranger Baptist Church in Murphy. The Revs. L.B. Adams and Shane Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites being conducted by Montgomery Lodge 426 AF&AM. Pallbearers will be Chris Stanley, Sammy Hawkins, Danny Stratton, Darrell Gates, Gary Anderson and Nick Guthrie. Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy Hawkins, Matthew Hawkins, Joshua Hawkins and Ricky Hicks.
The family received friends from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Ranger Baptist Church.
