Richard Perry Griffin, 83, of Murphy, passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, at Murphy Rehab & Nursing Center.
Mr. Griffin was born Jan. 1, 1935, in Portland, Maine, to the late Elmer Griffin and Lena Perry Griffin.
Richard worked as a credit manager for The New York Times, drew political cartoons for the Tuesday Weekly in Ellsworth, Maine, and was a cartoonist up until his passing.
In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to jazz music and playing golf. He also was a Mason and Shriner.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Griffin; his twin daughters, April Poulin and Melody Wright; his daughter, Sheri Crosson; two step children, Chris Tanner and Jamie Tanner Reece; four grandchildren, Amanda Poulin, Travis Poulin, Courtney Wright and Cristin Wright; four step grandchildren, Josh Reece, Christopher Reece, Andrew Tanner and Audrey Tanner; one great-grandchild and one step great-grandson, Jayden Reece.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
