Pearl Crain, 86, of Marble, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017, at Murphy Medical Center.
She was a native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County. In her early life, she and her late husband owned and operated Dickey Crain Wholesale. She later worked for Rite Aid.
She was a member of Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Norman Nathan and Tiney Roberts Barton, and wife of the late William L. “Bill” Crain, who died Jan. 5, 1980. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew, Billy and Howard Barton; and a grandson, Nathan Haigler.
Surviving are a daughter, Teresa Allison and husband Gary of Marble; a son, Steve Crain of Greensboro; a sister, Dorothy Stalcup of Sevierville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Stephanie Haigler and Claire Allison; three great-grandsons; and a special friend, Joe Phillips.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, with Rev. Harold Stiles officiating. The interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, prior to the service.
