Michael Wesley “Mex” Simmons, 29, of Fairview Road, Andrews, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Simmons was born July 25, 1989, in Andrews, the son of Terry Simmons and Jeannie Sharp Simmons.
Mex was a landscaper for several years. He was a member of the American Hunting Association and the NWTF. He loved hunting and fishing, and could catch a fish out of a mud hole.
He loved everyone, had many friends and never met a stranger. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mr. Simmons are his mother and stepfather, Jeannie and Jake Buchanan; his father, Terry Simmons; his grandmother, Linda Simmons; his son, Isaiah; brother and best friend, Steven Simmons; brother, Ryan Simmons; sisters, Amber and Madison Simmons; uncles, Donnie and Chris Simmons; uncle, Adrian Sharp; aunt, Mandy Humphries; and cousins, Tony Sharp, Ashley Cochran, Holly Prather, Dakota Gibby and Zakk Humphries. Many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, from Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Andrews with Pastors Bo Phillips and Dr. Jack Hollowell officiating. The following gentleman served as pallbearers: John Speagle, Matthew McTaggart, Shawn Beiker, Ryan Bevins, Justin Streeter, John Gaither, Donnie Simmons and Scott Douthitt.
Interment followed in the Valley River Baptist Church cemetery in Andrews.
The family met with friends at the church from 12:30-2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, prior to the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help defray expenses.
