Martha Lockaby, 67, of Hayesville, died Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, in a Chattanooga, Tenn., hospital.
She had lived in Cherokee and Clay counties most of her life. Martha worked for Levi’s and OMC for several years, and was owner and operator of MJ Lawn Care for the past 18 years.
She was a member of Canyon Road Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Hollis J. “Bud” and Jean Marcus Wright. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Wright.
Surviving are a daughter, Sonja Totherow and husband Chris of Murphy; two sisters, Sheryl Harris and Joann Goodman, both of Hayesville; three grandchildren, Brittany, Brooklyn and Christian Totherow; a great-granddaughter, Isabella Jeanise Huskins; and her companion of 14 years, Wayne D. Hogsed.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville, with the Rev. Steve West officiating. The interment was in Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronald Ware, Brandon Shook, Phillip and Jackie Wright, and Mike and Garren Hogsed.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
