Judith Elizabeth Beyer, surrounded by love, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2015. She was a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Murphy for the past 25 years.
Judith loved her mountain home, but she lived for her music. Her gift was apparent from a very young age. As a small child, she could pick up a variety of instruments, from strings to horns to percussion, and within minutes be able to play some little tune.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from the College of Charleston and continued throughout her life to develop her skills in music theory and songwriting, and in playing her many guitars.
Beloved daughter of Walter L. Beyer and the late Ina King Beyer, she also is survived by her sisters, Ina Pittman and Sylvia Beyer; her brother, Mark Beyer and his wife Ellen; and by her nieces, Ina and Gabrielle Hendricks, Laura Pittman, and Maura and Colleen Beyer.
Her family would like to thank her many caregivers, her medical team and all those who helped her transition.
