Henry Braswell, 88, of Murphy, passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at his residence.
He was born in Screven County, Ga., to the late Floyd and Daisy Parker Braswell.
Henry was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a welder. Henry enjoyed fishing, baseball and exercising. Henry was a member of VFW Post 10222.
He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Braswell.
He is survived by one son, Lewis Braswell of Kingston, Tenn.; one daughter, Ann Braswell-Cramm and husband Ron of Waynesville; and two grandchildren, Tim Cramm and Amber Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 10222, Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post 96 and DAV Chapter 73 and American Legion Post 532 of Hayesville and VFW Post 6812 of Hayesville.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
