Grant Moser, 87, of Murphy, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.
He was a native of Cherokee County, and the son of the late James Pearl and Mae Hall Johnson. Grant was an avid reader and of the Baptist faith.
In his younger years, he enjoyed gardening. Grant was always telling a joke, and he loved singing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Jake Johnson, and sisters, Vey Johnson and Lorene Jones.
He is survived by his nephew, John Johnson; niece, Kim Tucker; four great-nieces; and several other nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Townson Rose Funeral Home in Murphy. Pastor Harold Stiles officiated. Burial was in Ogreeta Cemetery.
