Geraldine “Gerry” Bate-man, 78, of Andrews, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
She was born of Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late Martin and Louise Manning.
Gerry was owner and operator of the Child’s Day Care Center. She loved to cook, bake cakes, and arts and crafts. Gerry attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Martin Manning II and Regis Manning.
She is survived by four sons, Charles “Corky” Bate-man and wife Karen of Marble, Joe Bateman and wife Lisa, Tim Bateman and Bill Bateman, all of Andrews; and three grandchildren, Andrew Bateman, Allison Bateman and Brandon Beavers.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. Father George Byers officiated. Burial was in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were members of the Andrews Volunteer Fire Department and Andrews Rescue Squad.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
