Eldon Morrow, 76, of Andrews, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at his residence.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, and son of the late Lloyd and Alice Graves Morrow.
Eldon retired from Baker’s Furniture. He loved the Atlanta Braves, Jimmy Johnson, and he never missed a NASCAR race.
Eldon enjoyed eating cheeseburgers at the Burger Basket and ice cream, but more than anything he loved his girls and Cooper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clinton, Ralph, Ray, and infant brother Robert Morrow; and sisters, Hazel Morrow Reid and Dorothy “Tootsie” Fralick.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Melba “Snookie” Morrow; one daughter, Laynette Morrow; four brothers, Glen Morrow and wife Jo of Farner, Tenn., Howard Morrow and wife Margaret of Blue Ridge, Ga., Donnie Morrow and wife Lisa of Copperhill, Tenn., and Kenny Morrow of Turtletown, Tenn.; sister, Pauline Morrow Cain of Farner, Tenn.; grandchildren, Chanteah Jordan, and Ciara Payne Gillespie and husband Colin; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Orr and Nevaeh Gillespie; and more than 100 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at Red Marble Baptist Church in Andrews. The family received friends from 2-3 p.m. The Revs. Paul Ray Morgan and Mickey Stewart officiated.
Pallbearers were David Allen, Brandon Allen, R.L. Jordan, Justin Derreberry, Lonnie Postell, Steve West and Kevin Bickley.
