Eddie Farner Sr.
Eddie Dean Farner Sr., 64, of Marble, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Murphy Medical Center.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, and the son of L.T. and Helen Ruth Totherow Farner of Murphy.
After 37 years Eddie retired from driving an oil truck. He was a member of Maltby Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Eddie loved his family and having family cookouts.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Lonnie Harold Farner; grandparents, E.C. and Wilda Farmer and Wesley and Bertha Totherow.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Joyce Farner; one son, Eddie Dean Farner Jr. and wife Cheryl of Marble; one daughter, Leeann Carter and husband Michael of Murphy; two stepsons, Mark Roberson and wife Angie of Whittier, and Jeff Roberson and wife April of Murphy; one sister, Becky Davis and husband Charlie of Marble; grandchildren, Abby Farner, Jacob and Isaac Carter and Kruz Stewart, and two step grandchildren, Lane Kent and Emily Roberson.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Maltby Baptist Church in Marble. The Rev. Kenny White will officiate. Music will be provided by the Hayes Brothers. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Stiles, Ryan Stiles, Eric Hogsed, Brian McDonald, Mark Laney and Mitchell Totherow. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Wilson, Brandon Stiles, Larry Lovingood, Michael Paul Lovingood, Lane Roberson, Kent Roberson, Jacob Carter, Isaac Carter and Kruz Stewart.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy, where he will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service hour.
