Dr. Julius "Buck" Hill III
Dr. Julius Napoleon “Buck” Hill III, 78, of Clarkesville, Ga., passed away Monday, July 1, 2019.
Born in Murphy on May 1, 1941, he was a son of the late Julius Napoleon Hill Jr. and Virginia Gilbert Hill.
Dr. Hill was a United States Navy veteran who proudly served his country as a lieutenant in the Medical Corps during the Vietnam War.
He was an honor graduate of Western Carolina, where he earned his bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry, and later earned his doctorate of medicine from Emory University.
Dr. Hill was an Eagle Scout, and a member of the Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Medical Association.
He was also an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville.
Survivors include his former wife, friend and companion, Pamela H. Hill of Charlotte; his sons and daughters-in-law, Julius N. Hill IV and Alexandra Hill of Geneva, Switzerland; Dr. David Hill and Tara Hill of Charlotte; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank G. Hill and Jan Hill of Barnard, S.D.; Robert B. Hill and Luann Hill of Atlanta, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah H. d’Empaire and Al d’Empaire of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Carolyn Hill, Georgia Hill, Alex Hill, Luke Hill, Connor Hill and Audrey Hill; and several other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, from First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville with the Rev. Jasper Keith officiating.
