    Charles Lewis Lloyd, 74, of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at his residence.
    He was born in Clay County to the late Pauline Nicely.
    Charles was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He served in the Vietnam War.
    He worked for MGM Brakes and Outboard Motors.
    Charles was of the Baptist faith.
    In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepdad, J.T. Nicely Sr., and brother, Jerry Lloyd.
    He is survived by his wife, Edith Lloyd; two daughters, Ebony Waller and Heather Lloyd Leak; one brother, J.T. Nicely Jr; three grandchildren, Cheyann Leak, Madelyn Waller and Amara Leak; and several nieces and nephews.
    Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in the Peachtree community. Military honors were conducted by the VFW Post 10222, Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post 96 and DAV Chapter 73, American Legion Post 532 of Hayesville and VFW Post 6812 of Hayesville.
