Bessie Chance June, 84, of Murphy, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at her residence surrounded by four of her loving daughters.
She was a native of North Carolina, but moved between Cherokee County and central Florida throughout her life.
She had worked with her husband in a variety of businesses. They owned nurseries and restaurants, but most recently had property development and home construction businesses.
She was a member of First Church of God, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She kept all eight of her children in church every time the doors were open.
She was the daughter of the late George and Beatrice Marsh Chance, and wife of the late William Harold Hogan and Byron June Jr. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Hogan; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Ragan; and a sister, Blondell Clark.
Surviving are five daughters, Deborah Ann Hogan of Murphy, Marsha Radford and husband Joe of Murphy, Vickie Wilson and husband Dwight of Williston, Fla., Vivian Piper and husband Bill of Clayton, and Diane Dockery and husband Larry of Murphy; two sons, Warren Hogan of Marble and David June and wife Chris of Mosheim, Tenn.; three sisters, Georgia Chance, Ruby Ross and Kathleen Wiggins; and 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, with the Rev. Jimmy Tanner officiating. The interment will be held at noon Friday, Aug. 31, in Highland Memorial Park in Ocala, Fla.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
