Ashley James, 33, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and formerly of Marble, passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, in a Nashville, Tenn., hospital.
She was a native of Cherokee County, but had been living in Murfreesboro the past six years. She was a graduate of Western Carolina University.
Ashley was working as a senior analyst for Verizon Wireless.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Ashley loved life and was loved by all she knew.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Paul “Brownie” and Katie Passmore Parker; her paternal grandparents, Arthur “Jesse” and Annie Sue Derreberry James; and her step-paternal grandmother, Laura Raxter James.
Surviving are her parents, Audy and Pamela Parker James of Hayesville; a brother, Andy James and wife Aneka of Hayesville; a niece, Landry, and a nephew, Wyatt.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, in Andrews First Baptist Church with Dr. Calvin Bobo officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Verizon Wireless in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at Andrews First Baptist Church prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Ashley James to Mission Rathbun House, 121 Sherwood Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, is in charge of all arrangements.
