Frances Naomi Tolley, 80, of Murphy, passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at Erlanger Murphy Medical Center.
Frances was born June 12, 1938, in Cherokee County, to the late Romulus Ray and Leona Ladd Ray.
A member of the Church of Christ faith, she was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene Tolley; two brothers, Kenneth and Ronald Ray; and one sister, Ann Addis. Frances was a talented artist, and she used many different mediums in her works. She also was an avid writer having written several articles that were published in the Cherokee Scout.
Survivors include one sister, Elma Piercy; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy with Minister Tommy Hayes officiating. Interment followed in Vengeance Creek Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Johnny Luther, Aaron Barnett, Ryan Farmer, Tyler Thompson, Gordon Farmer and James Hartness. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Ray and Lindford Palmer Jr.
The family received friends from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Cochran Funeral Home.
