Dewey Lee Kelley, 77, of Lenoir and formerly of Murphy, passed away at home Monday, Feb. 19, 2018.
A veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam era. He also was a member of Cherokee 0146 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Maudie Mashburn Kelley; and infant brother, R.M. Kelley.
He is survived by his son, Bradley Kelley (Carol); daughter, Missy Kelley Kephart (Merle); stepchildren, Amy Kelley Willingham (Michael) and Arron Kelley; two brothers, Fred (Carol) and Lawrence (Mary Ellen) Kelley, all of Murphy; and sister, Marjorie Kelley Wells of Hickory. Survivors also include numerous grandchildren and families, great-grands, niece and nephews.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir.
A celebration of Dewey’s life will be held in Murphy at a later date.
